Pakistan’s former President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday condemned the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Panamagate case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying the decision has not only “damaged” democracy but also justice. “I condemn the judgement and ask Sharif to resign,” he said in a press conference after a Supreme Court bench declared there was “insufficient evidence” to remove Sharif from office but ordered setting up of a Joint Investigation Team to probe the graft allegations against his family.
