Describing the kidnapping of nearly 300 girls in Nigeria by Boko Haram militants as “awful” and “heartbreaking”, President Barack Obama has said the US will “do everything” it can to help find the children.
“Obviously what’s happening is awful, and as a father of two girls I can’t imagine what the parents are going through,” Obama said of the kidnapping of the girls three weeks ago by the Boko Haram group that has threatened to sell them.
