Trump slams Hillary with jibe at Bill Clinton's 'sexism'

As his ongoing feud escalates with Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, Republican front-runner Donald Trump has started taking jibes at her husband Bill Clinton, targeting what he described as the former president’s “penchant for sexism”.

“Hillary Clinton has announced that she is letting her husband out to campaign (for her) but he’s demonstrated a penchant for sexism, so inappropriate!” Trump tweeted on Saturday night.

Clinton herself had used the “penchant for sexism” line in a recent interview to refer to the billionaire businessman, who had used a slur against her at a campaign rally in Michigan earlier in the week.

“It’s not the first time he’s demonstrated a penchant

for sexism,” Clinton told the Des Moines Register. “Again, I’m not sure anybody’s surprised that he keeps pushing the envelope.”

“Hillary, when you complain about ‘a penchant for sexism,’ who are you referring to. I have great respect for women. BE CAREFUl!” Trump had tweeted on Wednesday night. He has since followed it up by targeting Bill Clinton.

Taking the cue from Trump, his campaign aides have already been going on the offensive against the Clintons on the television channels. Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson commented on CNN: “Hillary Clinton has some nerve to talk about the war on women and the bigotry toward women when she has a serious problem in her husband.”

“I can think of quite a few women who have been bullied by Hillary Clinton to hide her husband’s misogynist, sexist secrets,” Pierson said, in apparent reference to Bill Clinton’s past problems with three women, notably the Monica lewinsky affair.

There was no immediate comment from the Hillary campaign on the latest Trump offensive.
