Trump ad proclaims he'll 'quickly cut' ISIS' head

Republican front-runner Donald Trump’s first television ad for his White House bid proclaims that he’ll “quickly cut the head off ISIS”, build a wall to stop illegal immigration and “make America great again”.

“The politicians can pretend it’s something else, but Donald Trump calls it radical Islamic terrorism,” says the narrator’s voice as the ad zooms on pictures of President Obama and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, and then onto mugshots of the young Pakistani-origin couple that carried out the San Bernardino massacre in California last month.

“That’s why he’s calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until we can figure out what’s going on. He’ll quickly cut the head off ISIS and take their oil. And he’ll stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our southern border that Mexico will pay for,” says the 30-second ad that ends with Trump’s campaign slogan: “We’ll make America great again.”

Although several of his Republican rivals have already released their campaign ads, the billionaire businessman, who has always boasted that he has spent the least amount of money on his campaign but has all along led the table, now plans to pump in considerable resources as the primaries get under way next month.

Trump now plans to spend $2 million per week on television advertising and the first campaign video will start airing in the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire Tuesday.

“I don’t know if I need it, but I don’t want to take any chances because if I win we are going to Make America Great Again,” Trump said in a statement who, for all his bluster, is locked in a grim battle with Senator Ted Cruz in Iowa, even while leading by a wide margin nationally.
