US President Donald Trump’s team has accused an “unelected bureaucracy” of sabotaging his presidency after reports emerged that he asked the sacked FBI Director to end the agency’s investigation into ties between his former national security adviser and Russia.
The Trump Make America Great Again Committee sent out an email to supporters with the subject line “SABOTAGE” and asked for donations of as small as $1 to help Trump “drain the swamp” in Washington. The fundraising pitch came less than an hour after The New York Times published a report that Trump asked ousted FBI Director James Comey to quash the investigation against his former NSA Mike Flynn.
