Islamic State (ISIS) has “sufficient funds” to continue fighting and might resort to covert communications such as the “dark web”, the UN political chief warned on Wednesday. “ISIS is adapting to military pressure in several ways,” Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said, urging the UN member states to share more information about airline passengers to defeat “transnational terrorism” sparked by the ISIS.
“Although its income and the territory under its control are shrinking, ISIS still appears to have sufficient funds to continue fighting,” Feltman said.
