A fire broke out early Monday morning at a holiday home for people with disabilities in Montmoreau, Charente, southwest France. At least one person was confirmed dead, four remain missing and are feared to have perished, and another individual sustained critical injuries. Around 80 firefighters and 24 fire engines responded to the blaze, which destroyed part of the guest house and caused portions of the roof to collapse. Sniffer dogs have not found any signs of the missing survivors, according to local officials. The fire is believed to have been accidental, and investigations are underway.
