17 militants killed, 10 injured in military raids
Cairo: At least 17 militants were killed and 10 others injured during military raids in the Egypt’s restive North Sinai during the past 24 hours. Militants killed in the raid belonged to terror group Ansar Beit el-Maqdes. The military also said they destroyed hideouts of the terrorists during the raid.

Karachi: A 30-year-old Indian fisherman has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in a jail here, prompting Pakistani
authorities to order a probe into the death. Devo Mand Kansaro, who was arrested in March by Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency for fishing in the Arabian sea, was found dead on Thursday in his jail barracks in Malir district.

Saudi to build Africa’s tallest skyscraper
Rabat: A Saudi investor is to build Africa’s tallest building in Morocco, with construction of the 114-storey tower to begin in June, the project’s manager said on Friday. The skyscraper in Casablanca will be 540 metres high, taller than the 223-meter Carlton Centre in Johannesburg.
