2 Palestinians killed following stabbing Jews in Jerusalem

Published on:

Two Palestinian assailants were shot and killed on Wednesday after stabbing Jewish pedestrians outside Jerusalem’s Old City, the Israeli police said. Police spokeswoman luba Samri said the attack happened outside the city’s Jaffa Gate. Police shot both assailants, she said. One died at the scene and the second later, in hospital.

Three people were wounded in the attack, one of them possibly by policemen who were shooting at the assailants, according to Samri. The identity of the wounded was not immediately known.

Jaffa Gate is a popular spot for tourists visiting Jerusalem’s walled Old City. Since mid-September, near-daily Palestinian stabbing, shooting and car ramming attacks have killed 19 Israelis and an American student. At least 120 Palestinians have died by Israeli fire in the same period, including 82 said by Israel to be attackers.
