Marriage has not changed Kareena Kapoor Khan’s professional life. She spoke to Karan Bhardwaj

Her sister chose to stay away from films for some time post her wedding but Kareena Kapoor Khan is a woman of her mind. She is “different” and doesn’t see any point in taking breaks. Ask her if she misses spending ‘relaxed’ moments at home, she shoots back, “Are you given leave after your marriageIJ Same is with my profession. Films are  my job and being married is a separate part of life. My thinking is different from others in the industry. I don’t understand why heroines keep their careers at the backseat once they are married. Even before our marriage, I was with Saif for five years and I worked with almost every actor. I will continue to do so.” The 33-year-old claims that she doesn’t work on her public image. “People think I am born with silver spoon and my sister has done all the hard work, and I am just reaping the results. I am not a person who has ever given an interview on image -building. I am very confident of what I do. I stay away from the limelight as I think my work should speak on my behalf,” she says.

Kareena will next be seen in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein opposite Imran Khan. On her chemistry with Imran, after Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, she says, “It was a lot more fun this time. During Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, we got to know each other. This time, we were more comfortable. Imran is growing as an actor. He is more confident than before.” She plays a social activist who moves to Gujarat villages and the guy follows her to win her heart. Kareena was also excited about shooting in Bhuj, where she previously shot for her maiden movie Refugee. “I never knew I would go back to Bhuj. The city has grown up pretty well. I like to eat at Prince Hotel, where they offer thalis,” she shares.

Kareena says her parents always stood by her. “My father is a cosmopolitan person. He always supported the fact that I will be an actress. There is nothing else I would do rather than being an actor. I am passionate about acting,” she adds. Does her hubby take note of her workIJ “Never! Even during our relationship, he never asked what film I was doing and with which actor. As a rule, we don’t ask each other. This is not the reason why we are in a relationship together,” she says.

She doesn’t mince words when it comes to praise her hubby. “I am always learning from Saif. He is an intelligent person and reads a lot. I have learnt to live life from him. I learnt how to keep my personal and professional life separate. We don’t attend parties often. We talk about things apart from films,” she says.
