On Day 4 of the Lakmé Fashion Week, prominent designer Samant Chauhan, will be showcasing his collection exclusively on Trell, the homegrown social commerce platform. By Team Viva

With the advent of the new normal, there have been numerous changes to the world as we know it. And the fashion industry was not to be left behind. Trell, a social commerce platform, is the Official Lifestyle Partner of  FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week.

With the first-of-its-kind association, Trell gave its creators a chance to walk the ramp for noted designer, Samant Chauhan’s, and holds the right to stream his fashion film on the app and users have access to all the live shows. Chauhan will showcase his collection, which was inspired by the twentieth-century British Socialist textile designer William Morris, tomorrow, today, the fourth day of the Fashion Week, at 7 pm.

Speaking ahead of the show, Chauhan shares, “We are excited to showcase at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week as it is the first time that a platform meant for fashion and lifestyle lovers will stream the show exclusively. It will be thrilling to see new reactions and a novel audience. Trell will help the brand increase its reach and engage new customers from the current tech-savvy generation. I have been looking forward to having a more interactive format for my show, and that is precisely what Trell provides precisely this opportunity.”

The elements borrowed from Morris’ work, ‘Strawberry Thief’, include the geometrical abstractions, symmetry, and embroideries. Much like Morris, the designer has tried to restore the prestige of handmade crafts, weaning away from factory-made textiles. Moreover, Chauhan has also attempted to use textiles handcrafted by artisans — the cotton and silk weave used by the designer is a source of livelihood for many artisans in Bhagalpur.

On its part, Trell extended the benefits of the collaboration with its users by conducting an online video audition. Two creators, Karishma Rawat and Tarini Shah, were shortlisted and were awarded with an opportunity to walk the ramp for Chauhan at Lakmé Fashion Week.

Karishma, a beauty and fashion creator on Trell, says that she is raring to go and delightfully expresses, “From writing on blogpost, to the days of curating aesthetic OOTDs, to creating videos online and now walking the ramp for Chauhan at Lakmé Fashion Week, my journey as a content creator has certainly been thrilling! Since we are done with filming the show, I have to say that it felt great to walk the ramp for one of the finest designers around.  I am so glad to be part of the Trell family where I have been nurtured with a great online ecosystem for my growth!”

To view Samant's one-of-a-kind collection, download and sign-up on the Trell app. The show will be streamed on the app's Trell.live page.
