Samsung refunds for Note 7 purchased abroad

The Galaxy Note 7 was a great device in terms of the features and received glowing initial reviews but the glory was short lived as reports of Note 7 catching fire emerged from across the globe and then the company stepped in to offer replacement devices which were supposedly fine. But then reports of even the safe devices catching fire forced Samsung to finally pull the plug on the Note7 and it announced that it was halting the production of the device and announced a global recall. The Note7 never officially went on sale in India but to cater to consumers who had purchased the phone abroad or from unofficial channels, Samsung India has announced that until November 1, 2016, one can bring their Note7 device along with the invoice and return it to the nearest service center for a refund. This is a sensible move as even airlines around the world have completely banned Note7 phones from being carried on flights.
