Swiss DJ and producer Yves larock will perform in India for the fourth time at the Sound Awake festival. He told I Kaur that he wants to collaborate with an Indian artist and be here every month
Any special preparations for IndiaIJ
I want to test some of my new productions here. Most of all I am preparing a special track, which I would like to finish before the Sound Awake festival. I want to play it for the first time in India so that I can see the response to it.
How do you see India as a destination for Electronic Dance MusicIJ
I have usually played only in clubs in India. The first time I came, I played in clubs, this time too I am playing in clubs as well as at a big festival, so there has been a significant improvement. I’m sure that India will soon be a reference of EDM worldwide.
What did you take back from your last tourIJ
It will be my fourth visit. I would love to come to India more often. If it’s every month, I’d be more than happy. This time, more than anything else, I am really looking forward to seeing my manager who represents me in India. He has now become more than a manager and is a friend. It is always a great experience here. I would like to take back the smiles I see in the crowd while I perform. Indian audience for me is one of the best in the world. People are motivating.
Apart from music what else interests youIJ
I don’t do politics but I am a big fan of political debates. My hobby is to make short movies or musical videos, and I watch a lot of movies. I’ve a lot of time in the plane so I read books.
One place you want to visit in IndiaIJ
Just saw some pictures of the Taj Mahal and it looks so beautiful that one day I will take a day off to visit it. It’s terrible but until now I never found the time to visit it .
What is your take on Indian musicIJ
There are so many artists here and I like the they create music with traditional instruments.
Would you like to collaborate with any Indian musicianIJ
Of course! I’m waiting for some propositions. So, if anyone would like to work with me please just feel free, contact me on Facebook or on my webpage. I’m serious.
Your forthcoming projects...
I will be touring all around Europe this summer and when I have some day off will go to the studio to finish my new album.
