Wedding show organiser HARPREETT SINGH forecasts the season’s trends

With a flurry of wedding shows in the capital, it is time to sift the grain from the chaff. “The themes are very minimal this season. Brides this season do not want heavy over-the-top lehengas. They are opting for bright colors with intricate gota and dabka work on it. Subtle embroidery, like those by young designer Rahul Mishra, is being very well-received,” said wedding show organiser Harpreett Singh.
The founder of the Mine and Yours show also spoke about how the ceremonial look has changed. “Today, the young about-to be married couples are steering away from traditional themes and are more inclined to choose individualistic looks in terms of colour, style, decor and concepts. The bride prefers a subtle and classic look rather than being decked up,” she said. The grooms have impacted the fashion industry majorly.  “Nowadays, grooms give a lot of attention to their looks. From getting facials and manicures to making sure their accessories match perfectly, they can be as fussy as the brides. Imperial Company by Raghuvendra Rathore has the most gorgeous sherwanis and suits for the same,” said Harpreett.
