Namrata Joshipura’s futuristic gown didn’t go too well with Kangana Ranaut as she struggled to cover the aisle. Karan Bhardwaj reports

Her flawless walk on ramp in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion and subsequent appearances in fashion weeks might have swept you off your feet. But this time, it was nothing short of an uphill task for Queen Kangana Ranaut to balance her heels when she strutted for Namrata Joshipura’s finale show at the Wills lifestyle India Fashion Week. The actor tripped on the lED lit ramp after receiving ‘wow’ chants in a black floor-sweeping gown. However, the dress sans any slit threw Ranaut in a tizzy who had to constantly lift the gown to move forward. For that matter, she didn’t repeat the walk when Joshipura appeared for the final bow. “I let her (Joshipura) down. The show was good but I feel bad as I couldn’t walk properly,” said the actor minutes after the goof up. The actress was quite disheartened but the designers patted at her back by saying, “It happens! Kangana is larger than all this. I am glad that she agreed to walk for me.”

The finale show got a fresh lease with Joshipura’s futuristic designs and a high-tech set. There was a laser light show followed by live performances by DJ and a drummer in the background.Inspired by the future, Joshipura presented Electron with patterns from artificial intelligence and brain mapping.

The texturing was used as embellishment on jackets, short dresses, gowns and shorts. leather paillettes glittered in portions on the quilted fabrics. The gladiator headgears and gloves added the oomph factor to the look. Models wore the metallic piece on lips to stand out.

“It’s been long that I walked on ramp last. I was a fashion disaster in Queen and will be seen as a fashion victim in forthcoming flick Revolver Rani. In between, Namrata gave me an opportunity to look good,” Ranaut said.
