‘I pledge to work for deaf community’

On the International Sign Language Day, actor Ranveer Singh pledged to constantly work for the deaf community in India.

He said, “I want to elevate the experience of music for the deaf community. This is my pledge. Our biggest dream today is to help secure a better future for the deaf community in India and we can only ask for this through our art. But to make this a reality, we need your support. I urge my fellow Indians to support this cause and fight for a brighter future for our deaf brothers and sisters.”

Ranveer also signed the petition to make ISL an official language and encouraged people to sign the same petition which has now gathered more than 70,000 signatures.

‘I had certain work commitments to fulfill. As actors, our nature of work requires us to be in front of camera and usually we have a whole team of professionals to make us look our best. But due to the lockdown, it became difficult to have a team so I had to get creative and do my own hair, make up and even styling for shoots.’

Singer Kumar Sanu is back with a new song that urges people to take a break from stress and listen to their hearts.

Titled Suno Apne Dil Ki, the single is composed by DJ Sheizwood.

“Music is what feelings sound like, and to sing a meaningfully melodious composition like this one is a rarity. We recorded this incredible composition by DJ Sheizwood, during the lockdown. It was done virtually using digital technology & video conferencing. It turned out to be unbelievably smooth sailing and more than a satisfying experience, thanks to Ajay Jaswal (producer),” said he.

Cusack on his interest in Kashmir

Actor John Cusack says he got closer to knowing and understanding India during his pursuit to understand the world in a better way.

The actor has been vocal about the events or turmoils, happening in India and addressed them through social media.

Cusack said, “I've been there a few times and I have a great friendship with (author) Arundhati Roy. (We have done) some activist things and we wrote some essays together about meeting Ed Snowden in Russia with Daniel Ellsberg and her. So I've gotten to know India by going there and through her eyes. So that's where my interest in India and Kashmir and all those issues came from.”
