‘I put on 15 kgs in 6 weeks for Toofaan’

Actor Farhan Akhtar revealed that for the role in his next film, Toofaan, he saw “a major body transformation.”

After losing some weight, he again had to put on 15 kgs in six weeks.

Farhan said, “For me, fitness is a way of life and not just a routine. Irrespective of my craft, I choose to live a healthy lifestyle. I’ve always refrained from indulging in things that could have adverse effects on my body. It was a challenge for me to adapt to a way of living that was completely contrary — with monitored exercise, less physical activity and high consumption of fats, carbs. It was tough. But I balanced consumption of fried food and the fats made up for it.”

Toofaan also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal.

‘As starkids, we do get a lot of advantages. So we know about the trade off. If you get those benefits, then you must be prepared for the extra scrutiny and pressure. My father (Paresh Rawal) is such an amazing actor and he’s had so much success that I am not afraid of people comparing me to him because I know I’m nowhere close.’

Actor Ali Fazal is set to play a lover boy in his next music video, Aaj Bhi. Brought by Vishal Mishra, the song is helmed by Mirzapur creator Gurmmeet Singh for Vryl Originals.

Talking about the track, Ali says, “It’s the first time I am working with Surbhi. It’s been super interesting. I loved interacting with Vishal. He has such a mesmerising voice. He has a soulful singing quality. Vishal and I bonded over our Lucknow connect. Surbhi is super cool and we kept chatting about films and food. The four days in Chandigarh were such a blast.”

Matt: Save lives by staying away

Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, actor Matt Damon says while other generations have been asked to do extraordinary things during such times, we are just being asked to stay at home.

He feels we all “can be together just by staying apart.”

Damon recently reunited with Kate Winslet and other cast of the 2011 virus thriller Contagion for a series of public service announcements (PSAs) to warn people about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now is the time to spend all the time you want staring at your phone or your tablet and if anybody gives you a hard time about it, tell them not to bother you because you are saving lives. Just make sure you stay six feet away,” Damon said.
