‘Talent shouldn’t be based on gender’

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has worked with several talented female filmmakers in his career.

Nandita Das called the shots in Firaaq and Manto, Reema Kagti directed Talaash and recently, Tannishtha Chatterjee wielded the megaphone in the forthcoming Roam Rome Mein. Siddiqui says as an actor he does not differentiate between talents based on gender.

“When I work with a filmmaker, I am not concerned about the gender. For me, what matters the most is creativity,” Nawazuddin said.

As actors, we have two jobs. The first is to make a film. Then, the most hectic job is to promote it. We have done our responsibility. We have tried to make Made in China honestly. I have seen the film and I really like it. We are proud of it. Now, it's all in your (the audience) hands. I am pretty sure that whenever you watch the film, you will have a lot of fun.
