Kangana to play Jayalalithaa
Actress Kangana Ranaut, last seen on screen in Manikarnika, will be playing late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in the forthcoming multilingual biopic Thalaivi, its makers have announced.
On Kangana's birthday on Saturday, it was officially announced that she has been roped in to play Jayalalithaa.
Thalaivi will start rolling from April.
“When producer Vishnu Induri approached me with the offer, I felt a sense of responsibility more than excitement. This was a story of an achiever; a story of one woman who fought for her place in a male-dominated world. It was meant to be told with honesty. The stature of this leader and her courage inspired me to say yes,” said Vijay.

Actress Vaani Kapoor is currently shooting her next Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor. In the film, directed by Karan Malhotra, Vaani will play the character of the most sought-after travelling performer from India. The actress has been learning kathak for a few months now to prepare for the role. “For the film, the dance sequences required me to have a very Indian, classical body language, which is why I started taking kathak classes to learn the nuances and the grace. Karan specifically wanted me break from the Western style to do justice to the choreography being set for me,” said Vaani.
Cardi B to sue bloggers
Rapper Cardi B is suing bloggers for claiming she is a “prostitute with herpes.”
Cardi filed the lawsuit against Latasha K, who has a blog called ‘unWinewithTashaK.’
She's angry about 23 videos that Tasha posted over the last 14 months. According to the suit, Tasha posted a video saying Cardi's baby might be born with intellectual disabilities. The inference seems to be Cardi was doing drugs that would harm then-unborn Kulture. She's also suing Starmarie Ebony Jones, who posted a video in September accusing Cardi of doing cocaine and prostitution.
