Cooking is not just about heating up the pan and adding ingredients to it, but a way of connecting, where you add a pinch of life along with the spice. When little wizards try their hands at it you get immersed in a heart-warming experience. By Team Viva
Scorching heat and blazing sun is what makes us hate summers. But for children it is the best time of year as they get a break from their studies and do what they love. While the adults are busy blaming the heat, the young ones find new ways of beating it. Once they set their imaginations free, a wave of creativity unfolds.
Vivanta, Taj at Dwarka has come up with a new concept of bringing children of various age groups together, sharing the joy of cooking. The chefs are trying to introduce culinary skills to the children as a hobby that can be perused. “Summer breaks have started and we wanted to try something new so that children can take a break from their regular routine and indulge in something interesting,” says chef Jitendra.
Tanishka, the youngest one among them, has come with her grandfather to learn the ABC of cooking. With a bright smile, she shares, “I don’t like to eat that much, but I love to cook.”
Cooking is either a passion or a stress buster for us. But for them it is a hobby that gives them happiness and make their mums proud. Kashish, a foodie herself, shares, “I don’t know much about cooking but I do like to help my mother in the kitchen.” Kids try their best to learn whatever they could by keenly observing the chefs. Wearing chef hats, with keen eyes they learn how to make wild berry fruit cake for the sweet tooth and handmade ravioli pasta in saffron emulsion to delight their taste buds.
Vivanta has made sure that the kids who are eager to demystify the art of cooking have something to take back with them. It has come up with some basic recipes that can be easily cooked without much ado. Also keeping a note of the health quotient, they have ingredients with very low calorie content.
On one hand where torrid summers is making life difficult, these little chefs are learning the intricacies of cooking and have plated up their sleeves to become little Master Chefs.
