The actor in the movie, Anshuman Jha who is playing Raghu, seemed really excited. “For Chauranga, Bikas came to me and said there are no actors in my film. There are only characters. And while playing Raghu, I fell in love with him. It is the most difficult role because it is my most silent role. According to me, great films are films which have their silent moments which make them memorable. Chauranga itself is a very silent film and Raghu is a very silent character. It is also on the other end of the spectrum. In love, Sex aur Dhokha, I played a Dalit boy but in Charunaga, I am playing a high class Brahmin boy. In lSD, I was being oppressed but here I am the oppressor,” he shared.
Talking more about the character, Jha told us that this is the most difficult role that he has done so far. “It was difficult because he hardly speaks. So, everything had to be done from expressions. My thought at this point of time is that I want to do films that will remain in my DVD shelf for years and Chauranga is one of them. Chauranga was naturally attractive to me. This is the film I am extremely proud of,” said the Delhi boy.
