Now feast your eyes and delight your taste buds with two of your favourites coming together. Zing at The Metropolitan Hotel & Spa has come up with a delectable range of pasta and pizza rolled into one. By Unnati Joshi
Pizza is the greatest comfort food ever. We all love it and know it. And Zing at The Metropolitan Hotel & Spa has been a bit playful in offering our mood food by topping up pasta on pizza. Swathed in subtle, warm and welcoming colours, the place captivated us with its zest. We were greeted by their welcome drink, and the only thing to remember about it was the garnish, a pineapple slice. After a good chat with chef Rahis Khan, we were served pesto spaghetti pizza topped with succulent chicken chunks. The glossy, stringy spaghetti sat pretty atop the thin crusted pizza. The sauce wasn’t spicy, just the right hint of tang coming in. We then tried sciara del fuoco which had perfectly smoked lamb pieces. This one turned out to be the star of all served. Nicely cooked and topped with fusilli and a lot of cheese. Maybe the best pizza we ever had. While we were thinking about the good old penne’s conspicuous absence, we saw it gracing our table. The pizza penne Margarita was the basic tomato, mozzarella and basil, Neapolitan style. Since we had their best before, this one couldn’t entice our palate much. The Mighty Pasta Pizza festival is on till August 20.
