While Shahid Kapoor will replace Madhuri Dixit in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Remo D’Souza will be the super judge on Star Plus’ new show Dance+
It’s not one of the most pleasant news for Madhuri Dixit fans but it can be some relief for those who wanted to see the actress acting rather than just shaking her leg with guests and contestants in dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ). The actress will be replaced by Shahid Kapoor in the eighth season of the dance reality show on Colors. The other change is Remo D’Souza being replaced by choreographer Ganesh Hegde. Karan Johar will continue his association with the show as a judge. While Colors is creating the buzz with these recent announcements, Star Plus is gearing up for another offering — Dance+. Remo will be one of the mentors on the show. The choreographer said that the real reason for his exit from JDJ is that he is a huge Madhuri Dixit fan and that was one of the reasons he was on the show. Now that she has left, he didn’t want to be a part of it anymore. Remo said, “Working with Madhuriji for three years was a dream come true. I am as big a fan of hers as everyone else. When I got to know that she is not doing the show, I was really sad. Also, Dance+ is a completely different format. There will not be any known faces on it. I will be hunting for India’s next dancing icon from among the aam janta. There is going to be a lot of hard core dancing.” Dance+ will have three mentors on the show and Remo will be the super judge.
