Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 is here again to tickle your funny bones. Arjita Mishra speaks to the star-studded cast about the sex comedy genre
The film industry in India has evolved over the years. There was a time when films like Bobby and Ram Teri Ganga Maili shocked the viewers that such films could also be released and were also hits. That was the time when these films were the hot topic of the gossip town. But now, the scenario has changed. Today, the audience has opened up to the idea having a great laugh at the adult comedies.
The trend of adult comedy came in when director Inder Kumar released his film Masti in 2004 which was followed by Kya Kool Hain Hum in the year 2005. Both the films were big hits after which, the producers decided to create series of these films. Producer Ekta Kapoor is all set to release her adult comedy Kya Kool Hain Hum 3. The original cast of the film had Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh but this time Aftab Shivdasani has replaced Ritesh Deshmukh. According to Shivdasani, “There are only two adult comedy film series in India, one is Kya Kool Hain Hum and another isMasti. I am glad that I have been given an opportunity to be a part of both films.” The actor was last seen in Balaji Films 10 years back in film Koi Aap Sa in 2005.
Speaking about the film, Tusshar Kapoor, who is also playing a lead role in the film, said, “Since we’ve given it a tag line of porn-com, everyone misunderstood that it might be more indecent than the last part of the series. But, there is nothing like that. The humour in this film is at the same level.”
He added, “The comedy starts after we (Kapoor and Shivdasani) enter the adult film industry. The story revolves around a girl’s family who are very conservative and the golmaal that happens when the family meets our family.”
Shivdasani said that it is a family film but for viewers above 18 years of age. The actor also said that this is not only the adult film which is made in India. They had accepted that Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 was an adult film unlike many other producers and directors who would never admit it.
On asking Kapoor the reason behind doing comedy films back to back, he replied, “The films I do depend upon the audience and what they would love to see me do. I will keep doing comedy films because people like it when I do comedy.”
He added, “If I would get a serious or an intense role, then I will definitely do it. There is nothing like I will continue doing comedy films only. I have done films like Shootout at lokhandwala, Shor in the City andKhakee but right now I am looking for a good script.” He accepted that he is happy that comedy has become his trademark.
This is for the first time when Kapoor and Shivdasani have worked together. “This is for the first time when I am working with Tusshar. We have been in the industry for the last 15 years but never got an opportunity to work together. It has been a great experience working with him,” said Shivdasani.
Actress Gauhar Khan who will be seen doing an item number titled Jawani le Doobi in the film, was also present at the event. She said, “I am glad that audience is loving my song. I did this song because it was from Balaji banner, one of the biggest banners of Bollywood, and also because this song has been sung by Kanika Kapoor who has given many hit before.”
She also shared that she has never been a part of any song while rocking a “western look” and thus, this was also one of the main reasons behind doing this song. “I am happy that this song is one of the main highlights of Kya Kool Hain Hum 3.
Khan also told us that she has always done serious and intense films so she is glad that she is a part of a comedy film.
