Pravesh Rana is the surprise package

He is not one of those hosts on the small screen who would attempt to sound funny or crack jokes just because he is expected to be so. Model and anchor Pravesh Rana has made a mark by being himself as a host of Emotional Attyachar. Rana is making his Bollywood debut with Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next, Sahib, Biwi aur Gangster Returns. He will be playing a cop but more on this has been kept under the wraps. “You would not be able to figure out his intention till the end of the film — whether he is supporting the crime or he is trying to curb it. It is one character that will remain with the audience even after they will walk out of the cinema halls. I can’t reveal much about the character as I don’t want to kill the surprise,” said the actor and added that he chose the film as his debut project considering that it was coming from a director like Tigmanshu Dhulia “and have actors like Jimmy Shergill and Irrfan Khan.” Also, Rana shared that he comes from the family of policemen and co-incidentally the first role that he got to play on the big screen is also of a cop.

Rana says that there were roles that kept coming to him while he was doing Emotional Attyachar, but he didn’t want to be a part of any film that is very average.

“I don’t appreciate very straight forward and obvious characters. I like to do things which have suspense. I feel I am better able to relate to such characters. Therefore I was a bit choosy about my first film, though I always wanted to act. But I was never in a hurry,” shared the actor, who now looks forward to do more films and will continue doing a bit of television.

“I don’t categorise work, for me be it TV or films, good work is a good work. TV is a mass medium,” he said, adding that he would like to be a part of thriller and action films.
