The AIFW finale was a grand occasion with 25 designers joining hands to present the best of Indian craft

It was one rare sight that fashionistas will remember for a very long time. Country’s top 25 designers came together to draw curtains on the Amazon India Fashion Week, a finale that was ‘grand’ in every sense. Each designer presented two creations to celebrate ‘crafts of India’. Ritu Kumar, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Raghavendra Rathore, JJ Valaya and Rajesh Pratap Singh among others took a final bow amid  cheers and applauds at the Pragati Maidan venue. Rohit Bal broke into an impromptu jig, his favourite hobby on the ramp.

Though many designers showcased trademark couture, we were particularly impressed by the creations of Anamika Khanna, Ritu Kumar, Anju Modi, Rina Dhaka and Raghavendra Rathore. Suneet Varma’s mirror work in cholis and Manish Arora’s Indian kaleidoscope on garments stood out. Tahiliani is a master of drapes, so his saris were bound to impress. The mega show was preceded by a mesmerising performance of Rajasthani artistes. They set the perfect tone with tracks like Chaap Tilak Sab Cheeni, Dil Kare Dekhta Rahoon and Ishq Nachaya.
