Romance touches our hearts and music touches our soul. But when they both come together, they create magic in the environment. Whenever we listen our favourite tracks, we just get lost in our own world, no matter for how many times we must’ve have heard that particular song.
Set on the musical backdrop, producer Ekta Kapoor is launching her new television show Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum with Karan Kundra and Saanvi Talwar as the leading couple. The show will trace the story of friendship, love, trust and betrayal.
It is a tale of two friends who had learned music together and wish to become singers but, due to a dispute between them, one decides to choose music as his fortune and will do anything to achieve his goal. While for the other, music is next to God. But, their children fall in love with each other.
Kundra is portraying the character of Rahul Sabharwal, who is a rockstar, and Talwar plays the character of Maanvi Chatterjee, who has been trained in classical music by her father. According to Talwar, “I am playing a role of a Bengali girl who is very simple and obedient to her father. For me, whatever my father says is the only truth and she follows it with all her heart.”
When we asked Kundra about his role said, “I play a rockstar who is very humble towards his family, doesn’t drink or smoke but you will see me making headlines for the wrong reasons.” He will be seen in a different look in the show, “I gave six – seven differently-styled look tests for the show and this look was finalised by Ekta (Kapoor),” he said.
Though the actor was seen regularly in various shows, either as a host or as judge, Kundra will be a part of a daily soap after a gap of five years. According to him, “I had done three shows with Ekta and I wanted to take a break from daily soaps. From those shows, you get instant popularity but when that show goes off air then suddenly the actor is nowhere. I think if you are stuck with the same medium, and are doing the same thing again and again then after some time, the career is finished. You have to upgrade yourself as an actor.” He added, “I have hosted shows like Gumraah and judged Roadies and after doing these shows, my confidence level has increased.”
Kundra thinks that he was the best person to do this role, “They selected me for this role because they knew that I can justify the role of a rockstar because if they would have brought any new actor, then he would not be able to do that role,” said he.
On the controversy being created around his kissing scene in the promos of the show which are similar to that of his ex-girlfriend Kritika Kamra’s promo, he said, “Everyone have connected my name with Kritika in a way that whatever we do is being compared. Other actors have done kissing scenes but they are not being compared.”
Kundra has two films lined up as well as two TV shows including Roadies and one on Fox life channel. Talwar’s last TV show was O Gujariya: Badlein Chal Duniya and now she is working with Balaji Telefilms. She said, “I have always dreamed about such roles and working with Balaji is like I am living my dream.”
