After winning the ninth season of Bigg Boss, Prince Narula opens up about how he had to prove his mettle in the house. In a conversation with Shrabasti Mallik, he mentions that his bond with Kishwar and Suyyash is real

He has been there and has done everything that he could possibly do. So, when Prince Narula lifted the Bigg Boss 9 trophy, we were not surprised. Not even the least, specially because the Bigg Boss house was his ultimate aim. When we spoke to him last, moments before he went into the house, he had told us that all the shows that he has participated so far and won (read Splitsvilla season 8 and MTV Roadies X2) have paved his way and trained him to survive in the somewhat hostile environment of being stuck in a house filled with 14 people in the beginning.

Bigg Boss was his third consecutive win and the 25-year-old boy could not be more elated. “This feels so surreal. It has been a day and I still cannot believe the fact that I won, I actually won,” he could not stop laughing during our conversation. Prince credits his win completely to his audience. “It is because of the audience that I have won the show. None of this would have been possible without them. I did not know what I was doing. All I knew that I was playing the game and doing everything that was expected of me without bothering about anything else. I am grateful to each and every person who has forgiven my mistakes and given me plenty of chances to improve myself. Their love and support has resulted in the highest number of votes that the show has ever received,” he continued and also thanked MTV, Ranvijay, Karan Kundra and Vikas Gupta for having faith in him.

Reality show winners, in general, enjoy the limelight for a while and then embark on their own journeys. While some choose to remain in showbiz, some return to their lives. But not Prince. His plan is to chart his own way now. “I have climbed the big step — the one that I hoped to, but I still have a lot of hard work to do. Now that I have won, I have to look towards a new road. There are a handful of reality show winners who have not done anything but I want to work further. I want to take myself to a different level and show the world that a Bigg Boss winner does not stop. They only move forward,” he pointed out.

When asked about who he thought of as his biggest competitor he took three names — Keith, Mandana and Kishwar.

Quite candidly, Prince told us that the bonding that he developed with Kishwar Merchant and Suyyash Rai will grow stronger, now that they are out of the house. He wants to break the idea that the bonds that are made inside the house are temporary. “The relationship I developed with Kishwar and Suyyash is real and people will see it grow. We believe that the bonds we make in a reality show ends the moment we come out. That’s not a relation; that is something that is done for the game,” he explained.

Two shows old, Prince is not new to the format of a reality show. But there was a stark difference in the shows that he did before and Bigg Boss. He explained, “The thing with those shows was that if you did your task well and gave your best performance, you kept going forward. Here, even if you performed your best you ran a chance of being nominated. But you had to prove your mettle and show how strong you are. And I showed that in every task.”

A closer observation on Prince’s life would reveal an interesting fact — three seems to be his lucky number. Bigg Boss was his third consecutive win, he was nominated thrice and was also made the captain of the house thrice. We asked if another reality show was on the cards and he burst into laughter. “Abhi to bohot kar li (I have done enough for now). If I do another show people will say that this guy does not let others participate,” he said and added that he would now concentrate on two fiction shows. One with &TV and another with lost Boy Productions.
