Anil Kapoor and Allan Amin’s special relationship goes way back to the days when Allan was still trying to get a foothold as an Action Director
As the action director of 24 through both its seasons, Allan Amin has impressed the nation at large with his skills of upping the thrill and action quotient of the show. However, there’s a relatively unknown fact that connects that action director to actor-producer Anil Kapoor and it has nothing to do with 24!
Anil Kapoor and Allan Amin’s special relationship goes way back to the days when Allan was still trying to get a foothold as an Action Director in the film industry. At that time, he used to be Anil Kapoor’s body double in his movies.
When it came to 24: Season 2, and considering that the action sequences were quite intense, Anil Kapoor would often choose to rehearse all his scenes for at least 3-4 days in advance to ensure that the final shot appeared as real
as possible. But, even then, before delivering the scene, Anil Kapoor would often ask Allan Amin to demonstrate the action sequences himself and not let his assistants step in.
Given their history and relationship, the action director was always more than happy to oblige and demonstrate the scene in question to Anil Kapoor. “Allan Amin was my body double in Mashaal. He’s also done Tezaab with me. But by Tezaab, he had become an action director. Now he is the action coordinator and the action director on 24. I would tell Allan to get into the jeep and show me how to do the action sequences himself.” With so much fun coming into play for the action sequences, it comes as no doubt that 24: Season 2 will be double the thrill and excitement. Catch all the action as 24: Season 2 premieres today, every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on Colors.
