Which are the places you put on the international exhibition across the countryIJ
Normally, NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation limited) on its own puts around six international exhibitions across the country and Techmart is one of them. We do three events in the North-East and we normally select like last year we did in Chennai. So, that is how we pick up the international events. This is what we do and in addition, we also hold exhibition with others by participating in such exhibitions.
Why do you organise Techmart India when already specialised exhibitions on different sectors are being held across the countryIJ
This is the 23rd edition of the Techmart and Techmart is basically a technology exposition and the technologies which we show are all related with livelihoods. There are simple technologies where if a person wants to setup his own enterprise, he can pick up those machines and start working. They are not very expensive machines. Our basic agenda is to fulfill our mission of creating enterprises. India also requires new enterprises to come into the existence and that is the best method to get engage with the youth of the country. Our displays over here of the technologies are those which are related with the self employment like oil extraction machine, food processing machines, nail making machines, et al. so, there are so many similar technologies which we are trying to bring in and by which the youth of the country can also take advantage. The purpose is to create this awareness amongst the people the self employment is also an opportunity.
How do you find the new market for the MSMEs in the countryIJ
With the public procurement policy coming in the order we implemented with 2015, the market is really opening up. The business coming 20% of procurements to be made from them that is the one area where procurement and the benefits of the orders coming on their way will definitely accrued to NSIC. The NSIC in its own way is helping these MSME units in procuring those orders when we do capacity building of these units by registering them, a third party inspections them and participating in tenders where we tell the buyers that these are the MSMEs unit and we procure orders for them which we form out to these.
