Pabrai’s fresh and naturelle desserts are served with the promise of fond memories. Susmita Mukherjee reports

For those who have loved and lived the memories of Park Street’s Tulika’s in Kolkata, a new ice-cream joint in Delhi is ready to take you back to those carefree days. Pabrai’s ice-cream parlour is their latest offering in Delhi that captures chilled flavours from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

At the Delhi outlets, you will find an interesting assortment of ice-creams ranging from Kolkata’s meetha paan, Kashmir’s anjeer and South Indian coffee to nalen gur (special jaggery from Bengal) and gandharaj lemon in the Indian flavours section. The international flavours are equally mesmerising with bubblegum, lemongrass, apple pie and even wasabi and green tea flavours. And yet, it is the fresh fruit section that I found myself most drawn too. From muskmelon, pomegranate and chikoo to tender coconut (with actual coconut crumbs), jackfruit and sitaphal (sugar apple), every scoop of ice-cream was a delight.

You can choose to have your scoop in a cup or a waffle cone, or better, a waffle cone dipped in chocolate. This is one parlour that takes its ice-cream as seriously as we do.

The flavours are truly delectable, no doubt in that but Delhiites will have to travel quite a bit to savour them. With one branch in Connaught Place Outer circle and the other in East Patel Nagar, digging into these yummy delights will require dedication. But knowing my fellow ice-cream addicts, no distance is too far for that perfect scoop. The parlour also offers a 500 ml carry away pack  crafted specially for those midnight cravings or the perfect treat for that special someone.
