The students and staff of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur participated in the Government of India’s Fit India Freedom Run on Tuesday. The event was flagged off by Vice Chancellor of SRMIST Dr Sandeep Sancheti, and organised by the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science, SRMIST. Students participated in this event virtually.
The five-kilometer run was held within the Kattankulathur campus with proper social distancing precautions for COVID-19 in place. Dean Prof T V Gopal welcomed the gathering. Flagging off the event, Sancheti said, “Apart from keeping fit and reducing anxiety, such events are also good avenues to make new friends.”
The event was organised under the initiative taken by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
