Quantico’s trailer has set the ball rolling for Priyanka Chopra on American television

She wakes up to the havoc created by a terrorist attack on American soil. Injured and confused, the lady’s prime mission is to save the high-profile region and also crack the mystery behind the attack. The plot may sound like a Hollywood cliche but its trailer created quite a buzz on social media. After all, our desi girl Priyanka Chopra is making her big debut on American television with Quantico. For the first time, an Indian actor has been given a lead role compared to guest roles or supporting characters played by veterans like Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor and newcomers like Nimrat Kaur.

Throughout the day, her fans and colleagues kept praising her on Twitter and Facebook. The trailer shows Chopra playing the character of an FBI trainee, Alex Parrish, who is arrested for being the mastermind of the “biggest terror attack on New York since 9/11.” However, the girl makes her way out of custody to find the real culprit. The trailer, that has got rave reviews from critics and fans alike, introduces the premise, characters and the mystery perfectly.

The mastermind behind the attack is the sole mystery, which Chopra aims to crack. It leaves questions like, ‘Why is Chopra being targettedIJ’, ‘Who could be the mastermindIJ’ and ‘Is there a loop inside the FBIIJ’ We have no qualms with her accent, too but the makers have put the entire spotlight on the Bollywood diva. To be aired on ABC this fall, the series will also star Dougray Scott, Jake Mclaughlin and Johanna Braddy. However, the makers are absolutely relying on the popularity of Chopra and her Bollywood fans abroad. Given the NRIs’ fascination with all things Indian, the success of Quantico won’t come as a surprise.

“Just saw the trailer @priyankachopra can’t wait to watch super proud (sic),” posted Varun Dhawan on Twitter. Her friend Neil Nitin Mukesh said, “@priyankachopra This is awesome stuff! An intense story and the perfect person to play such a layered character (sic).”
