Neeti Nigam learnt how to pair perfumes with wines
Wine pairing with cheese, kebabs and tikkas is common. But bath and body brand Crabtree & Evelyn introduced a concept of perfume pairing with wine. The company launched its new fragrance Somerset Meadow at their store in DlF Place Mall, Saket. To make it a little hat ke event, they paired fragrances with three different wines.
Since white wine has citrusy flavour, it was teamed with Somerset Meadow that has fresh summer appeal. “We wanted to bid adieu to summer with this new fragrance. It will give a nostalgic feel,” said Jhelum Biswas Bose, their marketing manager.
The other two all-time hit fragrances were Evelyn Rose and Nomad Traveller. The former was teamed with rosé wine and latter with red. “Evelyn rose has feminine appeal that is elegant and not overpowering just like rosé. Nomad Traveller is as earthy as red wine,” said Jhelum.
To make guests aware of the body products, Zahra Zahed, the in-house hand therapist took a session of hand massage. “People like pampering their body by different massages but not many know that hand therapy is equally important,” said Zahed. “During winters, never apply animal-based oil products but prefer vegetable-based oil products. Choose creams according to your skin types,” said she.
