The fact that Arjun Kapoor-Sasheh Agha starrer Aurangzeb trended on Twitter justifies the popularity that star kids are enjoying even before the release of their film.Arjun is one film old and took it as a compliment when we informed him.
“Wow! I didn’t know this. See I am new and am still grounding my position in the industry. The best part of audience today is they are ready to accept new faces. If you work hard and are honest to your job, they won’t snap back at you,” he said.
The 27-year-old is thankful to Salman Khan for the faith and confidence he showed in him. He weighed 140 kgs before entering the movie business. “Salman saw my potential and inspired me to become an actor,” he said.
Arjun is upbeat about Aurangzeb, slated to release on May 17.The film is about a land mafia in Gurgaon. “In the film I am part of a gang headed by Yashvardhan (Jackie Shroff). Police get hold of me and field a lookalike in the gang,” said the actor, who earlier assisted directors in films like Shakti, Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-E-Ishq and Wanted. Did the job of assistant director helpIJ
“I always wanted to direct films. I never thought of being an actor. Now as I am acting, I am always involved in filmmaking. I sit with directors and the crew to understand tiny traits in my character like body language, smile, expressions etc. I read dialogues and the script several times to avoid doubt,” he commented.
Arjun belongs to the Kapoor clan which has given Bollywood many stars. But the legacy behind doesn’t pressurise him. “Even though my father (Boney Kapoor) is a big producer, I debued with another big banner. Apart from acting, the sensation is craving for time to chill and sleep.“I am deprived of sleep. Shootings and promotional stuff are on back to back. So, I get little time for myself,” he quipped.
