Prabhakar Singh has taken over the charge of Director (Projects) of Power Grid Corporation of India ltd (POWERGRID). Earlier, Singh was an Executive Director of Northern Region-1 of POWERGRID.
Singh is an Electrical Engineer, graduated from Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur in the year 1978. He has served more than 38- year in Indian power sector in various capacities particularly in transmission sector including Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB), NTPC ltd, POWERGRID and Jaypee Powergrid ltd. (A joint venture of JP Power and POWERGRID). He has vast experience in transmission sector especially in the area of project execution.
