Desi Vibes adds precious items like barood dani used in wars, stamps from 18th century and coins of Akbar era to its interiors

With a rustic set up of an urban village, Desi Vibes stands out in the bust market in Noida which is capacitated by fancy stores and international franchises. The outlet is successfully running for a few years and epicureans generally drop in for mouth watering food and age-old desi beverages. We were welcomed with drinks in kullad teamed with pappad. There were 12 varieties of chutneys and aachars that were being offered to the guests around, the hot favourites being baingan and apple ki chutney. The menu comprised a mix of Punjabi and Mughlai delicacies. While indulging in food, we could see antique items place on each table like 300-year old locks, barood dani used in wars, stamps from 18th century, coins of Akbar era (1305), knives and supari cutters.

A lot of attention has been paid to the décor details ranging from chairs of beaten wood, kancha and pebbles flooring, a small well in the center of the floor and mini cots. The walls are done with actual gobar laepa and have allas displaying ethnic and antique buys. The puppets suspended from the ceiling along the bamboo and handi shaped lamps, weave the theme of a village. “We are planning couple of more outlets in Delhi owing to the thumping success of our existing outlets. Desi Vibes is a hit citywide,” said Varun Khera, owner of the outlet.
