Ahead of the International Women’s day, veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has sent out strong message on gender equality, by announcing that his assets would be shared equally between his son Abhishek and daughter Shweta.
Big-B posted a photograph on his micro blogging handle which carried a message, “When I die, the assets I shall leave behind, shall be shared equally between my daughter and my son #genderequality #WeAreEqual.”
Amitabh Bachchan have two children — actor Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. In his blog, Amitabh virtually launched a gender equality campaign by posting the same photograph with the “we are equal” message.
“The office of the public servants that promote various campaigns are keen for this .. and so I do it .. though talking about it and exhibiting its plea is hesitating for me,” Big-B stated in a paragraph preceding his photograph, thus revealing the reason behind his posting his photograph with a message.
It may recalled that Amitabh wrote letters to his two granddaughters — Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s daughter Aaradhya and Nikhil Nanda and Shweta’s daughter Navya Naveli on Teacher’s Day last year, in which he advised both of them not to live in shadows of people’s judgement.
On the film front, Amitabh is gearing up for the release of the third installment of the Sarkar franchise, where he will reprise the role of Subhash Nagre. The film, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, also stars Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam, Amit Sadh and Manoj Bajpayee.
