At the advent of spring in March, a flower show is held in the sprawling township of Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex every year. This year, it was a festival of flora with a fabulous riot of colourful flowers.
These flowers in various nooks were judged by a panel of experts specially invited from nearby areas of Panipat town. It was no easy task as there were 37 diverse categories and their names declared on little cards hung on the herbs, plants and saplings. There were also plants for sale, interesting plant holders in the shape of birds and animals in various poses, some bonsai. The local school kids gave a spirited performance clad in traditional costumes.
The flower show was well-attended and everyone had their bit of fun in the sun as nearly 4,000 people thronged the grounds. The flower show was inaugurated by TK Basak, executive director (I/c), accompanied by Yadav, BD, ED (NRPl) DHAR, Supriyo, ED (PR) and other GMs and officials who have been specially invited from nearby IndianOil’s marketing, business development, NRPl and petrochemical offices.
