Group Of Delhi’s Superbikers will be taking out a rally this Sunday from South Extension to Jantar Mantar to thank Delhi Police
We usually criticise the Delhi Police for not performing their task well. Whenever any crime occurs in the city we just blame the cops for not doing their job, for not protecting the public. We never appreciate them for their endless support that they offer us in times of need and misery. leave aside appreciating their work; we have never put any minimal effort to at least thank them for their constant support
On 6th of September a motorcycle community named Bikers For Good whose founder is Mohit Ahuja is starting an initiative to thank the Delhi police for their work in a unique way. There are more than 500 bikers from Delhi who all are going to ride together to Jantar Mantar to show their support for Delhi Police and also to appreciate their work for making Delhi a safer place.
Arun Thareja founder of GODS (Group Of Delhi’s Superbikers) is also helping the group Bikers For Good. According to him, “This is the initiative by the Bikes For Good. The main person behind this is Mohit Ahuja. It is all because of his efforts that we are acknowledging the efforts of the Delhi Police.”
It is a two-wheeler initiative stared by the bikers for a social cause. “We have been doing this for the past three years. We usually meet at Jantar Mantar so GODS (Group Of Delhi’s Superbikers) will be coming directly at Jantar Mantar and we will be standing there with the banners and thanking the police. This is the least that we can do to encourage them,” said Thareja.
On asking about the co-operation of Delhi police, he shared, “We take prior permission because this is an annual event. The police are aware of our initiative and this is our little way of saying thank you for tirelessly serving us.”
“The bikers will take ‘I’m there’ pledge on the day. Tomorrow if any cop sees a biker with the I’m there sticker sticker on his bike, the cop can ask him for help if needed. The same can be done by the public, who’re stranded on the road,” said Mohit Ahuja, founder of Bikes For Good.
On asking Thareja how the police will contact those bikers when needed a help he said, “The SHO of an area knows the numbers, they know numbers of main bikers and the couple of groups who are coming there on Sunday. So they already have the contact numbers.”
We asked how the bikers planned to help the public and he explained, “We are already there on the net and the group is already doing a lot of charity work. Even Mohit and his group are involved with NGO charitable works.”
