A leading Italian brand unveiled its spring-summer collection for the sophisticated and modern man. By Ramya Palisetty

A grey suit with a crisp white shirt and a red rose on the lapel is the perfect attire to make a style statement at any occasion. The leading Italian brand introduced a new collection with vibrant colours. Mustard coloured shirt paired with light blue trousers is a quirky combination which looks quite appealing when one sees it visually.

Though a decade ago, people were fixated on certain colours and combinations due to societal conventions but individuals of the millennial generation are experimental and open-minded since they are well-travelled and aware of the latest fashion.

With the introduction of Indian- inspired ceremonial collection, the brand is becoming popular for wedding season. The collection has fabrics designed exclusively for Indians which is compatible to the Indian taste and available only in India.

The ID jackets have a raised collar and intricate detailing with a crest on the back. It is the brand’s best seller which can be paired with trousers or jeans. The most interesting aspect is, the inner lining is detachable. It can be worn as a formal attire for work as well as a casual wear for clubbing.

The luxurious line of denims is high waisted and soft to touch. Corneliani is the only brand with high to mid waisted jeans. Prem Dewan, retail head has worked for the past five years with the brand and has been in retail for almost 20 years, travelling across the globe visiting various factories. He began his journey as a shoe-seller who worked hard to reach the pinnacle of success. He feels that the designs of the collection are elegant, innovative and extremely comfortable to wear.

The Indian market is growing at a pace of 10 to 12 per cent though it was a bit disturbed during demonetisation. Each and every business suffered during the process but Dewan is hopeful that the brand will keep growing as customers today aspire and demand luxurious products.

The menswear has evolved drastically. Men have begun to dress up well. They are particular about detailing, colour combinations, ties, footwear, pocket squares and belts.

Dewan believes retailing a luxury brand is quite personal. “It is all about profiling a customer, engaging him and serving him for years after understanding his taste, body language and posture. We try to offer something which suits them.”

The Italian brand has been selling for generations, building strong relationships. They sternly believe that if you sell one garment and the customer is satisfied, you will be selling them forever.

The made -to -measure services are also available for specific buttons and  various colours of lining. The brand has pre-set suggestions which is fine tuned according to the customer. “We are one of the few brands that do special sizing. We never say no to an individual and we try to accommodate everyone as best as possible.”

The brand is unique because of its style, elegance and innovation even though the old DNA of the brand is conventional and traditional.
