Charu Parasher drops her fantasy with prints for this new luxury line, to be presented at WIFW/AW. By Karan Bhardwaj

Big headgears (read oversized accessories), loud music and lots of prints have been the trademark of designer Charu Parasher’s runway shows. But this time, she is all set to throw surprises. The designer will present her luxury red carpet line at the forthcoming edition of Wills lifestyle India Fashion Week that begins March 26. She started the line last year with its maiden outing at the last fashion do but has formally taken it in a big way this time. “It’s a step forward. I have already got three lines, bridal, resort and spa and Indian diffusion line, which does extremely well during festive seasons. I have been wanting to do this luxury line for two years which has got more international appeal. It’s basically for red carpet and luxurious evening outings,” she says.

For that matter, prints have got less space as there is a focus on appliqué work. “Prints have been my strength which I have modified a little bit. There will be patches of various prints in 7-8 ensembles only,” she says. Her jumpsuits are teamed with masculine blazers (on top), gowns are not extra voluminous but have champagne cuts. Jackets will have French knots over hand embroidered pieces. Cherry red, cobalt blues and black top the hues palette. “It’s all feminine but silhouettes are quite edgy. You will see a lot of celebs wearing these clothes on the red carpet events,” she says.
