While he was here to launch the first song from PK, Aamir Khan discussed everything under the sun apart from the details of his film. He said he will be soon meeting Narendra Modi and will attend the wedding of Salman Khan’s sister. Shrabasti Mallik reports
Ever since he released the poster of his forthcoming film PK, there have been speculations on what the movie would be like. But seems Aamir Khan is liking the mystery that he has created around the film. While he was here to launch the first song of the film Tharki Chokro he spoke at length about almost everything under the sun. But if one was really curious to know about the movie, then the only option was to read his expressions, those were quite revealing of the character that he will be playing in the movie. Out of the meagre details that he shared were, “I almost ate 100 paans (betel leaves) to get red lips, I had blisters in my mouth.” We guess Aamir learnt a few lessons after the first poster of the film raised controversies. He thinks those were baseless. “One has to realise the difference between vulgarity and nudity. One can be fully clothed and still look vulgar. I don’t know why people are trying to see through the transistor.”
To avoid any bad publicity further, he shared that in the song “the word tharki is to add a pinch of humour.”
The actor also shared that he will be seen speaking Bhojpuri in the film and to get the dialect right, he had a teacher named Shanti Bhushan. He thinks the suspense around the film is only doing good to it. “A few call my character an alien, some think he is a drunkard and some consider him mentally challenged. I am enjoying these rumours,” he said.

WORD OF MOUTH
The reason why I decided to do the film was that it has an interesting script and second it is Rajkumar Hirani’s movie. Every one of Raju’s films has an important and a deep rooted message and that’s what I love about him. And the way in which he delivers that message is always humorous. He uses a lot of humour to convey drama. In PK he is using humour to convey something very dramatic. Raju comes up with the weirdest names possible because he always tries to do something unusual. Who else would name his hero Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad, who later turns out to be Phungsuk WangduIJ In the movie Anushka is named Jagat Janani while Sajnay Dutt is Bhairo Singh.
Anushka is a very hard working girl and extremely focussed. It was a pleasure working with her. Sanjay Dutt is like an elder brother and we are planning to talk to authorities and get an official permission to hold a special screening of the film for him.
SOCIAl WAYS
Salman and I are so close that he needn’t send me an invitation for his sister’s marriage. I don’t need an invitation card to attend the ceremony. I will definitely be a part of it. I hope Salman and Shah Rukh’s friendship continues to grow.
GOODWIll FACTOR
I have been a part of Swachh Bharat Campaign since its inception and feel that every Indian should contribute to keep the environment clean. People need to understand the process of solid and liquid waste management. The campaign is a very good effort by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I plan to meet him soon.
THE CRORE ClUB
I am not concerned about the business or how many crores PK will make at the box office. What I really want is that it should receive the same amount of love and respect that 3 Idiots had received. The movie should strike a chord with the audience. When people like the film, the business is not important.
BlAST FROM THE PAST
I was a very shy boy. In fact, I was so shy that girls in the corridor used to look at me, smile and crack jokes. But I never had the courage to even make an eye contact with them.
