Bureau of Indian Standards conducted an enforcement raids with the help of police at the premises of Tribhuvan Metal Industries, Delhi.
During the raid it was observed that the firm has complete manufacturing facilities for producing aluminum utensils and was found to be manufacturing aluminum utensils with BIS standard mark with brand Toshiba and Champion without having valid BIS license thus violating Section 11 (1) of BIS Act 1986. During the raid sufficient material of ISI marked aluminum utensils of brand Champion and Toshiba bearing CM/l-8533681 were seized as a documentary evidence for further legal prosecution.
Wherever the information is brought to the notice of BIS, prompt action is taken against those manufacturers who are misusing BIS standard mark (ISI Mark) and using spurious marking on their products. BIS will welcome any such information from any person/organisation who may notice such misuses on spurious marking of ISI Mark in their area/market, etc.
