The actor got multiple piercing for his Thugs role
When it comes to Aamir Khan, it is not surprising that the method actor is setting another example by sporting earrings and a nose ring for the Thugs of Hindostan role.
He got pierced to play the flamboyant Firangi in his forthcoming film. The actor was extremely involved in the styling of his character with costume designers Rushi and Manoshi.
He reveals, “When I started working on the character, I felt that Firangi should have a nose pin. When I’m playing a character, I want to try and feel that I am the character. Whether it’s the nose ring or the ear studs, it becomes a part of me.”
Director Vijay Krishna Acharya credits Aamir’s dedication to be Firangi by saying, “I have seen him go through all the piercing and it was really a brave attempt on his part.”
The costume designers highlight that Aamir took the heaviest nose pin with the thickest wire despite knowing it would hurt him that much more while piercing. “There were a hundred nose pins but he chose the one with the thickest wire and the heaviest in weight,” they say.
The film, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif, is set to release on November 8 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
