Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) organised a ‘Good to Great’ motivational workshop for handicraft exporters at Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhawan on January 4.

The session was chaired by Rajesh Jain, member, COA and Rakesh Kumar, executive director, EPCH. Roshan Suhail, motivational speaker of M/s Right Track Foundation, conducted the motivational workshop and interacted with the participants wherein over 70 exporters were present. The objective of conducting this workshop was to make the member exporters aware on how to develop the behavioral attitude and aptitude for decision making,  bridge the gap in the area of communication, team work, leadership and corporate work culture, familiarise with various intricacies of managerial ineptness and discover an untapped source of positive energy, motivate and raise standards of personal excellence. Also, how an effective presentation can project a world-class image to the customers and how to offer insightful ideas to help and keep people motivated in order to get the best from them.

Rakesh informed in his inaugural speech that today’s workshop is a practical experience which would enable the participants to understand the complexities of management as a stream. He stressed on the need to introduce an interactive communication leadership programme by the participants in their respective companies. Suhail discussed how to discover strengths in ourself. He described strength as “an ability that you can be used repeatedly, happily and successfully”. He stressed on the need of time management and proper coordination of team members as the top most priority and also told participants how they can focus on their strengths rather than weaknesses.

According to him, one’s strengths can be recognised through following cues: spontaneous reaction, yearning, rapid learning, satisfaction, sense of time. It was a very motivating workshop appreciated by one and all. Rakesh said that inspiration is a stimulating feeling that seeks to motivate us, to continue pressing forward through hardships and to find meaning amidst chaos.

Meanwhile, an awareness workshop was also organised simultaneously at Kolkata on ‘International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) and Risks Of Foreign Trade’ wherein over 40 participants were present and interacted with the faculty members. The executive director, EPCH further informed that the council will organise workshops on similar as well as on other subjects for the promotion of handicrafts exports on regular basis in New Delhi and other craft clusters like Moradabad, Kolkata, Bangalore and the North-East region.
