Sanjay leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been put on hold for the moment at Jaigarh fort where the cast and crew were shooting. The protesters got violent and vandalised the sets

like it has happened with many other Sanjay leela Bhansali’s films, there have been protests yet again on the sets. We have heard that there has been chaos during the shooting of Bhansali’s film Padmavati at Jaigarh fort in Jaipur.

After completing two schedules of Padmavati in Mumbai, the team has moved to Jaipur to shoot some of the intense scenes for the period film. But now, terror has struck the shoot again.

Director Sanjay leela Bhansali was reportedly beaten up on the sets of Padmavati in Jaipur by members of the Karni Sena.

Activists of a Rajput organisation protested and misbehaved with the crew of Bhansali’s forthcoming film.

They also damaged some cameras and other equipment, forcing Bhansali to stop shooting.

“We had earlier requested him (Bhansali) to show us the script which he did not do. We are against distorting of historical facts and we know that he has distorted historical facts,” said Vivek Singh of Karni Sena.

Bhansali, whose 2015 release Bajirao Mastani was also criticised by a section of the society for “distorting” history, was shooting some shots of Padmavati in Jaigarh Fort.

Around 12 pm some activists of Karni Sena gathered there and started to protest. They even mishandled and misbehaved with Bhansali and his crew members. There was a complete chaos for some time and Bhansali had to stop shooting.

“We will only allow him to shoot after we see the script,” Singh said.

The situation got so out of control that police had to be called.

The protestors are now reportedly having a peaceful discussion about the same with director Bhansali.

Padmavati, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, is based on the invasion of Rajasthan by Alauddin Khilji in 1303 which was motivated by Khilji’s desire to kidnap the beautiful Rani Padmini who was married to the ruler of Mewar, Rana Rawal Ratan Singh.

While Ranveer Singh is playing Alauddin Khilji, Deepika is playing Rani Padmini and Shahid Kapoor is essaying the role of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh.
