A workspace with kitschy quirks and even kitschier food. By Jigyasu Joshi
How about a place where you can sit and work at your leisure while upbeat music keeps you company while you have you a biteIJ Sounds good. Office-Office is one such place where you can sit back, work and eat, all at once. Inspired by the famous sit-com, Office-Office, one of the spaces is graffitied with the iconic characterMusaddi and others.
The interiors and the ambience are welcoming with the restaurant boasting a terrace with artificial grass. After settling in, we ordered our soups. The chicken and spinach broth had a fresh tomato base. Not very thick, it had soft hunks of chicken complimented with a cheesy slice of bread on the top, tasting just fine. The Tomyum soup flavoured with Thai herbs tasted average. Moving on to the salads, the salade de chicken tikka was really a treat from the kitchen. The presentation and the taste of the salad got our thumbs up. On the other hand, the veg peanut salad lacked the taste and was more or less messy.
Next on our table were cigar rolls, tad crunchy on the outside and with vegetable fillings inside, the rolls were simply scrumptious. The vegetarian platter with the usual suspects and had nothing fascinating about it. Owning to the hot day in the capital, drinks were something we were looking forward to. We ordered a mint julep, virgin mojito and a hazelnut frappe. All the drinks were filling and did go well with the food; the frappe in particular was thick and really good. Although not much of a seafood lover, prawn skiathos were something we weren’t able to resist. The prawns were perfectly sautéed with white wine, garlic and pepperoni.
For the mains, we were served the chef special pizza with four different toppings appeasing both vegetarians and carnivores but failed to impress. The lasagna was a hit though, the average Indian will love digging into it. We also tried tacos and baked cheese nachos that were delectable again. Not overdone, pure perfection. After a filling meal, it was time for desserts. We were served a baked blueberry cheese cake and hot chocolate soufflé. The desserts were satisfying to the core. Cheese cake just melted in the mouth and the soufflé had this rich, gooey feel to it. Not an out of the world place but a one-time try only for the theme.
