Dance India Dance Super Moms gives these ladies a chance to dance. Spokesperson Raghav Juyal spoke to Prerna Sharma
There are loads of women who don’t get the opportunity to showcase their talent after marriage, or take forward their dreams of being dancers.
Barely any show promotes mother’ dancing talents. But DID Super Moms, the new season of India’s biggest dance reality show Dance India Dance will soon provide a unique platform to mothers who could be sensational dancers tomorrow. Raghav ‘Crockroaz’ Juyal, a finalist of DID (season 3), recently announced the auditions’ date for Delhi. Several mothers were invited through Twitter to join Raghav and shake a leg with him while he was here. Over 50 joined and 15 danced on stage.
“I taught them my slow motion signature steps. All of them did it brilliantly. I could not believe they could be such good dancers. After marriage and becoming a mother, most don’t get the opportunity to pursue their dreams. This show will provide a platform and encourage other people to make the most of their talent, so it doesn’t get wasted by them sitting at home,” Raghav said excitedly.
The talented mothers, who are also phenomenal dancers, will be selected from across India.
Participants will be trained under four talented skippers, who will help mommies shape their destinies. During the first phase of the competition, a panel of three masters (jury), will judge participants and eliminate one each week. “Renowned choreographer Farah Khan has been chosen as judge. The rest are to be decided,” said Juyal. In the second half of the season, the public will vote for their favorite contestants, on the basis of which, eliminations will take place. Raghav rose to fame after being a finalist in Zee TV dance reality shows like Dance India Dance (Season 3), and skipper for the team Raghav Ke Rockstars in DID li’l Masters 2 and Dance Ke Superkids.
“My life completely changed after participating in DID. People who discouraged me now aspire to be like me. I belong to Dehradun where dance is not viewed as one of the ideal professions. But after I was acknowledged in the show, many parents allowed their children to learn dance professionally,” said Raghav who will be soon doing a movie with Ramesh Sippy.
