Dora is out of the idiot box to perform live for her fans. By Karan Bhardwaj

She is known to be kids’ Indiana Jones. Her adventurous nature, commitment to friendship and pride in the culture have got her brownie points across the global viewers, be it kids or elders. However, all the action that you have seen has been on TV. As the year ends, Dora The Explorer, is all set to come out of the idiot box and perform some adventurous tasks live before the audience in a theatrical extravaganza called Dora’s Pirate Adventure. Starting today, the stage show by life like Touring and lIVE Viacom18, will be held at Siri Fort Auditorium till December 30.

The show has previously been performed in Australia and India is the first international market targeted by the producers. “This is going to be an international premiere of the show in India. We launched the theatre shows of Dora in August this year in Australia but they were at smaller scale. India is a huge potential market and this toon character is quite famous among Indian kids,” said luke Gallagher, director of the show.

The stage is designed like a colourful box with a border for the larger than life characters. “Everything is big. It cannot be same like TV but it has to be even more riveting since it is live show. The eight feet tall toons are bound to leave kids in awe. The whole backdrop is in lED screens with animated videos. We work with Q lab technology, which allows us to play audio, video and lights in sync with each other,” he said.

The 57-minute show is divided into two parts. “The Dora will be looking for different things in three locations. They find a boat and crack down the mission. It’s quite a funny concept,” luke informed us.
